Expertise: Expert
Strengths: Looks - they really do look good. Light blue cable housing works well with the blue LED setup in my case.
Speed - quite acceptable. I was scared that they may be slow, but I was foolishly sceptical.
90-degree connector - a very nice addition. Either on your motherboard or drive itself, this connector makes for an overall better organized system
Weaknesses: Colour - not as blue as I'd figured it to be, more light blue than blue, but I've made peace with it and come to love them
Best uses: Standard - medium strength computing and gaming
Similar products used: Standard SATA cables
Blue SATA cables - worth it?
Short answer: Yes.

Seeing as how normal SATA cables already cost a lot of money, and then you get the standard skinny red ribbons, these cables really do seem to make better sense.

They look good. The colour of the cables is more baby blue than genuine deep blue, but I'm quite fine with that. They are UV reactive, so if you would shine a UV light (also known as a blacklight) they should light up like a christmas tree. I, however, do not have UV lights in my case, so they don't. They do look very good though. Me, not being a big fan of a red-themed computer system (I think it's too clichèd), find these cables extremely refreshing.

They come in good length - the 60cm cables are long enough to reach from the lowest SATA ports to the highest optical drive. The 90-degree bent connector on the one end makes it really well suited if you don't want it coming out of your drive looking like something stuck in there. It helps for organization as well, making itself less of a burden to order around in the case.

Thus far the speeds of these cables I used were quite acceptable. On the packaging Vizo states that they are only 3Gb/s, so make sure you know that before buying them for a major 6.0Gb/s RAID setup or something. I've not noticed a difference in speed between these cables and the ones that came with my motherboard thus far, so I'm quite happy.

Are these cables worth it? Well, seeing as how I have a case dedicated to a blue/black theme, I'd say yes, definitely. Standard SATA cables will cost you about R60 anyhow, so why not pay R20 extra and get something that looks really good? I'd buy them again, without a doubt, and use them for a long time to come.
