Sony Cyber-shot HX7V
A Good Screen We were expecting to see major improvements in screen quality from Sony in the HX7V. The low-grade screen used in HX5V cost the camera its fifth star, as the TN panel and out-dated definition didn't to anything to make lining up shots a pleasant experience, particularly when taking... Accepting the obvious limitations that one gets in a point an shoot camera, the Sony HX7V is really an excellent example. I own a couple of Nikon DSLR cameras (D700 and D300), but they are large and bulky for every day carrying around, traveling on my motorcycle, etc. Read more ...
PROSThe HX7V is well designed, Photos are great. 10x zoon is terrific, Menus are well laid out, the controls easy to find and use, Build quality seems decent, Macro is great, to take pictures in a very low distance you have to use Zoom, GPS feature

Distortion at wide end
Disappointing distortion at wide end. Google it and you'll find a few complaints. At some of the pictures taken by my girlfriend my face was as long as camels face or my body was misshaped completely making me appear shorter but wider. If you really care about a true image avoid this camera. Read more ...

Good but slow.
Excellent picture quality and fast focus, but otherwise just too slow for me. Start up is slower than on other recent models. Zoom takes a full second before it starts zooming and I had expected better low light capabilities from this one. Read more ...

CONSNo battery charger and no AV cable. Sony supplies an AC adapter with a cable that is almost the size of a charger but only serves to connect the camera for charging the battery.
