Nikon COOLPIX P100
Nikon's P100 is the company's third-generation SLR-style super zoom, replacing the P90. Launched in February 2010 it swaps its predecessor's 12.1 Megapixel CCD sensor with a 10.3 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Read more ...

Nikon Coolpix P100 Review
Barely a year after introducing the Coolpix P90 superzoom, Nikon is back with another "performance series" big-lens model, the Coolpix P100 . Where the P90 (which remains on Nikon's website as of this writing) featured a 24x optical zoom spanning the 26-624mm focal range (35mm film equivalent), the... Read more ...
PROSGood image quality, Very good shutter lag and AF acquisition times, Good high ISO noise performance, Versatile, user controllable stabilization options

Nikon Coolpix P100
The option of view finder or screen is great. I take pics on the boat, being able to tilt the screen to see subject in the sunlight is great. I'm used to a point & shoot, so the lens cap is more to deal with but all in all, this is awesome. I'm hoping to have plenty of great pics from it. Read more ...
PROSEasy to learn use of features, which are abundant. I'm really loving the sport mode. It takes multiple shots(like a slide show)each time you shoot. You can pick and choose what to keep
CONSFor myself, the grab handle is cumbersome, but I have small hands.I'm sure I will get used to it.The zoom is so good, I sometimes loose track of the subject

CONSThe battery has a very short life, and needs to be recharged inside the camera! So an extra battery isn't of much use. The manual controls didn't work properly at all and the images on the monitor when I shot were completely different than the images i got after

Superb photos ; more than a point & shoot, but not as complex as a DSLR.
I purchased this camera because I wanted a camera that was more than a point and shoot but I have no need of a full blown DSLR camera. I love the zoom lens and the fact that I don't have to carry extra lenses to achieve this kind of zoom. Read more ...
