With the amount of remotes clogging up our coffee tables nowadays a universal remote is essential to every proper home entertainment system or HTPC.

This remote is incredible value for the money. And it has everything you need. Yeah there are other fancier-looking options out there, but they cost a lot more and in essence do the same thing. So if all you want is a decent universal remote with which to control all your devices then you cannot go wrong with this.

The software is easy to use and you can program it to control every device imaginable. It's all done over the web so devices are updated all the time. The only device I am having problems with is my DVD player (and it's not because the remote does not work, because it is giving problems even with it's own remote)

It has a backlit display which is cool and useful at night. Of course this means this remote's batteries go flat a lot faster than normal remotes. I had to change the first set the other day after about 5 or 6 months use. This is not major, but considering other remotes last years on a set of batteries I thought it's worth mentioning.

The only gripe I have is the fact that the activities buttons right at the very top of the remote are not backlit. Not a major concern, but they went to the trouble of backlighting all 30 other buttons, why not those 4 also?

I now only still need the extension to use it with my PS3 then my home entertainment setup is 99.9% complete (it can never be 100%, can it?)
