It comes in 2 mapping versions and has preloaded maps for the lower 48 states plus Hawaii and Puerto Rico, or full coverage of the U.S. and Canada. nüvi 40’s speed limit indicator shows you how fast you can go on most major roads. With its “Where Am I?” emergency locator, you always know your location. It also comes preloaded with more than 5 million points of interest and offers the ability to add your own.

Know the Lane Before It’s Too Late

Now there’s no more guessing which lane you need to be in to make an upcoming turn. Available in select metropolitan areas, lane assist with junction view guides you to the correct lane for an approaching turn or exit, making unfamiliar intersections and exits easy to navigate. a little of a let down
its an awesome unit with well intended additions!(lane assist)& qwerty keyboard. It seems to be intended for a person who doesnt frequent the same place and the person who doesnt have many via points! and it lacks a route capability.

I found out later that it is not compatible with ecoroute or trip planner or my route(greatest let down of the unit)...

It isnt even possible to buy either of these aplications for the unit as for some reason the unit cant support these addons

well heres hoping.....

CONSThis Garmin does not hold a full charge! Experimented three attempts to charge the Garmin fully, by charging overnight, but the battery indicator does not show full charge. When I first got the Garmin in November 2011, I thought it was weird that a NEW Garmin would run low on battery after only...
