Dell U2711
Energy Consumption Not only did the UZ711's contrast ratio remain stubbornly low (see 'Colours' in the main article), but its energy consumption rocketed at the same time. Using the default configuration, the 27'' monitor uses no less than 100 W. Read more ...
PROSColours calibrated in the factory, Usability, Design and finish, Low input lag, Open viewing angles

Dell UltraSharp U2711
Wow. If any of the monitors in this group test deserve to come out ahead of Apple’s then the Dell U2711 is it. True, it’s the most expensive here by a wide margin – at £948.23, it’s nearly four times more expensive than the BenQ M2700HD – but, boy, you can see what the money’s been spent on. Read more ...
PROSGreat range of connection options; excellent build quality; sensibly located control buttons and delightful UI; excellent picture quality
CONSEnormous price tag; speakers are extra; 6ms response time, Apple’s 27in LED Cinema Display is better value

would have loved to keep it
The Dell U2711 is an impressive piece of kit, to say the least: high resolution imagery, a robust case, and a flexible stand, rounded off by a well designed on-screen display. The colours are overall very well resolved, so well indeed that your eyes get spoilt: my MacBook screen looked rather blunt... Read more ...

Title: Works well with mid-2010 MacBook Pro 13
I use a Dell U3008 monitor at work and really enjoy it; I got the U2711 for my home office, expecting it to be just a little smaller and significantly cheaper. On the whole, this is proving an excellent monitor for my needs, though there are a few minor caveats: * The monitor weighs less than I... Read more ...

I've had two of these monitors from Dell now, and both show problems with colour uniformity. I'm really disappointed, because there's a lot to like about the resolution, clarity, and depth of colours, and there are loads of reviewers and owners raving about it. Read more ...
