For extra convenience, the adapter’s compact design means you can easily slip the DUB-1312 into your pocket or laptop bag and take it with you.
Energy-saving Functionality
Power to the DUB-1312 is provided directly by the USB port, eliminating the need for an external AC power adapter. The DUB-1312 not only supports the USB 3.0 standard’s power-saving features, but also includes an energysaving suspend and resume function to minimize power consumption when network traffic is light, the device is idle, or when the Ethernet cable is unplugged. This feature is especially useful if you are using a notebook or netbook computer, as it helps conserve battery life, allowing you to keep working for longer without needing to recharge.
* Windows operating systems support plug-and-play functionality. Other operating systems may require software installation before the product can be used. Windows XP requires users to confirm before automatic installation can begin.

D-Link USB3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Review
I've had a hard decision to make - Whether to go with the R450 D-Link ethernet adapter, or the cheaper R350 Lenovo ethernet adapter, and by the title of this review, you can clearly see who won.
The D-Link USB 3.0 was my first choice in buying because of its slick design, but it was a bit more than I was wanting to pay for an ethernet adapter. That's when I came across Lenovo's ethernet adapter which had a rather unappealing design to me. The fact that the D-Link was a bit more expensive was due to it having a Gigabit Ethernet port, where the Lenovo lacked gigabit capabilities.
My experience with the D-Link adapter in just a few weeks, has been a good one. The RJ-45 Port works very well with ethernet hub and is very responsive. The line speed was exactly what it should be, evens though we do not have a strong enough line to test its full gigabit capabilities.
The packaging of the adapter was in my opinion, really great. It was shipped in a box which was wrapped with plastic. Inside the box was a place holder which the adapter sat ontop of, being secured into place with some cardboard latches. The adapter came with the following in the package:
x1 D-Link DUB 1312 USB 3.0 to Ethernet Adapter
x1 Quick Installation Guide
x1 Warranty and safety information
x1 D-Link Code Information and license
x1 D-Link Driver Software CD
The adapter has very few requirements, but unless your living in the 19' hundreds, you wouldnt need to worry about them. The minimum requirements are as follows:
• Intel or AMD CPU 200MHz or higher
• Windows 2003/7/8/Vista/XP/2000 SP4, MAC or Linux
• CD-Rom Drive
• 1x Available USB A port
In my limited experience with this product - I can clearly say that this is a product worth buying for any techie - Whether its going to be in use, or just laying in a toolbox.
I recommend this product
STRENGTHS:
Slick design, very responsive, easy to install, very functional and small
WEAKNESSES:
None
BEST USES:
Using on laptops without an ethernet port, or on laptop that has a busted port.
