Value is not based on price!
I purchased this lens in 2006 (for 20D) to take photos in Alaska as my 20mm 2.8 would yeild 32mm eqiv this would produce 16mm eqiv. Purchased slightly used, had to purchase lens hood which was overpriced. This lens is tack sharp very little barrel distortion. Read more ...

Great lens for events and outdoor uses
Bought this lens and really liked it from day one. It feels light and a little "cheaper" than my other Canon lenses, but it takes high quality images. I also have the 17-40 mm lens, but this one really has a place of its own. Read more ...

My fav, its great just get it. One of the best wide lenses of its caliber the best EF-S lens Canon makes. Like most lenses, any slight tech probs are fixable via post. A better lens won't help you shoot better photos only your ability. Read more ...
