topInspired by the feature found within the eyes of moths, the biomimetic SWC is a thin film constructed of nanometer-scale, pyramidal structures in size ranging from 200-400nm. It has a gradually modifying refractive index and thus creates an ideal path for the light to travel across from air to the optical glass with the desired angle of incidence, even at large angle of incidence brought by lens of large curvature.
The new lens employs a rear focusing system with a ring Ultrasonic Motor (USM), a high speed CPU and improved AF algorithms to provide the world’s fastest and quiet auto focusing. The minimum focusing distance is as close as 0.25m. With circular aperture, the lens produces beautiful out-of-focus image; while its dustproof and waterproof construction help to achieve maximum reliability required by professional photographers to withstand the most challenging environment.
