Canon Digital Ixus 300HS 10MP Compact Digital Camera

Powered by a 10 Megapixel high-sensitivity CMOS sensor with f/2.0 lens, and molded in a distinctive stainless steel body, the high speed IXUS 300 HS has stunning looks and image quality to match.

Features

  • High style
The IXUS 300 HS blends superlative imaging with exquisite style. Its angular, sporty design is crafted in high-quality stainless steel, available in matt black and blasted steel silver – for an IXUS that will turn heads wherever it’s used.

  • High-sensitivity 10.0 MP CMOS sensor
A high-sensitivity, back-illuminated CMOS sensor gives outstanding image quality in a wide variety of lighting conditions. Even images taken at high ISOs feature low noise levels and a wide dynamic range.

  • Wide and bright lens
A bright f/2.0 lens allows exceptional versatility, capturing low-light images and fast-moving subjects at higher shutter speeds. Its 28mm wide angle coverage lets you put more in the frame, while Canon’s advanced optical IS reduces blur caused by camera shake.

  • HS System
The new HS System dramatically improves image quality in all situations. A powerful combination of DIGIC 4 processing and high-sensitivity sensor, the HS System allows full-resolution shooting at up to ISO 3200 (10MP) or up to ISO 6400 in Low Light mode (2.5MP).

  • High-speed or slow-motion
Combined with the CMOS sensor, the HS System enables continuous shooting at up to 3.7 shots/sec at 10MP or 8.4 shots/sec at 2.5MP – ideal for capturing the moment in fast-paced sports subjects. Switch to 240fps Super Slow Motion Movie mode and show events unfolding in breathtaking slow motion.

  • 7.5 cm (3.0") PureColor II G LCD
A 16:9 aspect 7.5 cm (3.0”) PureColor II G LCD is ideal for shooting and playback of HD movies in wide format. A tempered glass layer improves strength and heightens visibility in bright conditions.

  • Effortless shooting
Smart Auto mode uses Scene Detection Technology to determine the shooting scene from subject brightness, contrast, distance and hue. The camera selects the appropriate scene from a possible 22, and applies optimal settings. Smart Flash Exposure intelligently adjusts flash for best results while Smart Shutter mode lets you trigger the shot by winking, smiling, or after an extra face enters the frame.

  • High Definition movies
Create stunning HD 720p movies with stereo sound and optical zooming. Then use the integrated HDMI port to connect to a compatible HDTV.

  • Creative control
Switching to Av or Tv modes allows you to add your personal touch, by adjusting depth of field or freezing motion. Creative modes include Fish-eye Effect, Miniature Effect and Low Light mode.

Canon Ixus 300 HS
16:9 Display The Ixus 300 HS has a widescreen 16:9 display, which is great for working with video. In photo mode, though, the sensor is still 4:3, so you'll still end up with black bands down either side. Read more ...
PROSWell made with an attractive interface, 720p HD video with stereo sound and zoom, Noise under control up to 800 ISO, Lens performs well in telephoto mode
CONSLow resolution screen, Case makes it easy to drop, Results less even at wide-angle, Disappointing burst mode for a CMOS sensor

A great value.
I bought this printer as a refurb. I got it for considerably less than the listed price. That was three years ago. This printer has been totally reliable. The printing quality for photos is excellent and installing the printer on XP Home was easy and trouble-free. Read more ...
