Scary as hell
I have to agree with the first review - the sound is incredible. You really feel as if you're in the actual environment. Sounds like a warehouse and when the zombies start attacking you normally hear it first - usually from behind! Heart stopping stuff!
Haven't played Doom in years, so I'm still getting used to the gameplay again, but the controls are the same as it used to be. It's like riding a bike, you never forget how, you just become rusty....
The game looks quite different from what Doom 2 was. The environment is more confined in a way and more multi levelled. Running away is a lot harder now!
For 60 bucks I just could not pass this one up. Even for 300 bucks it would still be a good buy if you like FPS games and if you grew up like me trying to finish Doom2 night after night.
My only gripe is that it does not work in Windows 7 (64bit) . But perhaps it's just a case of upgrading my graphics drivers or something. Seeing as I still have a Windows XP partition in which it works fine, I haven't gone to all that trouble yet - I'll update you if I get it fixed.

DOOM 3
A very good scare game. With a good sound system and at night this games really gets down to business. Very nice and at 60 rand well worth it with your next order.

| Strengths: | great 3d engine, spectacular scenes, a thrill from start to finish.. |
| Weaknesses: | controls take some getting use to (soooooooooo many options) , some graphics card manufaturers are not very informative when it comes to downloading OPEN GPL driver updates but at the end of the day the effort is worth it ! |
| I recommend also: | Doom 4 (upcoming release) uses id software's new tech 5 software .. due for release later this year |
Amazing game!
This is a great buy if you love first person shooters, the graphics are phenomenal, offering a very realistic feel that will leave you playing for hours / days on end!
Tips : Download the necessary drivers (go to your graphics card manufacturer's website and look at
the list of updates / drivers available for OPEN GPL.
Download a few expansion packs/mods and patches .. you will need them.
Try to change the controls to suit your gaming style before playing the first level.
