Acer Predator Triton 500

Infused with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 Processor and GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q Design, this laptop was forged to obliterate your games, empower your creativity and inspire envy from friends and family alike. All this on a 144Hz/3ms display.

TAKE IT WITH YOU

Covered in abyssal black metal3, we designed the Triton 500 with a purpose – to allow you to game, whenever, wherever, as you please. And when the LED-lit Predator-emblazoned cover flares into life, it will act as a reminder that this isn’t your typical gaming laptop.

ONE SPEED: FAST

Speed is at the core of this laptop with the display leading the charge. How? We’ve chosen a 144Hz panel with a 3ms Overdrive response time. Farewell blur and hello clear, crisp high-octane gameplay.

WE’RE SURROUNDED

Go on and hook up a few extra displays via the ports through HDMI 2.0, Mini DisplayPort (mDP) or USB-C Thunderbolt 3. Including the laptop screen, that’s a total of four displays play around with.

BRING IT ON

Residing within the metallic shell are the six-core 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H Processor, a GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q Design, up to 32GB of DDR4 memory at 2666MHz and two 512GB PCIe NVMe SSDs in Raid 0. The result? Absolutely insane performance that craves real challenges.

NVIDIA RTX TECHNOLOGY

GeForce RTX gaming laptops are powered by the NVIDIA Turing GPU architecture and the groundbreaking NVIDIA RTX platform. Count on the fastest, most realistic, AI-enhanced gaming experiences.

RAY TRACING

Add an extra layer of realism to your games. Ray tracing simulates the true behavior of light to bring real-time, cinematic quality rendering to the most visually intense games.

NVIDIA TURING

The revolutionary NVIDIA Turing architecture fuses together real-time ray tracing, artificial intelligence, and programmable shading for a whole new game experience.

GEFORCE MAX-Q DESIGN

Get one of the world’s thinnest, fastest, and quietest laptops. All in an impossibly sleek design you can actually fit in your lap. This is the sweet spot of GeForce RTX gaming.

4th GEN AEROBLADE 3D TECHNOLOGY

All Predator laptops utilize our custom-engineered cooling technology. The latest generation’s new design reduces noise while increasing airflow – allowing you to maximize your performance no matter the task.

BIONIC DESIGN

Inspired by silent, powerful owl flight mechanics we gave our fans a serrated edge, allowing more air to pass through.

ULTRA-THIN BLADES

Each of the 59 bionic blades is just 0.1mm thick and all-metal with a stabilizing dual indent groove.

NOISE-REDUCTION

Winglets along the top and bottom fan edge and a curved fin along the inner blade further reduce turbulence.

LET’S GO BESPOKE

The 3-zone RGB customized keyboard uses our own Predator typeface, has see-through concave-shaped keycaps for WASD and features two integral keys to take note of: Turbo and PredatorSense. Tap Turbo for instant overclocking or hit PredatorSense to open the utility app.

WAVES NX 3D SOUND

Turn any pair of headphones into a high-end 360° surround sound system – enabling you to experience your favorite movies, music and games with real-world 3D sound.

WAVES MAXXAUDIO

A suite composed of top of the line audio processing features to enhance every aspect of your laptop’s sound.

MAXXBASS

Hear deeper thundering lows, even on small speakers. MaxxBass delivers the low frequency impact that makes music and gameplay come alive.

MAXXDIALOG

Allows you to identify the “center” (dialog) information and adjust its level independently, resulting in clear dialog that doesn’t vanish behind background sounds.

LESS LATENCY, MORE VICTORY

No one wants to lose a match due to latency. It’s heartbreaking. With Killer’s E3000 Ethernet Controller, Wireless-AC 1550 and Killer Control Center 2.0, you have all the tools you need to clear out the online competition keep your ping low and 100% optimized.

Acer Predator Triton 500 (i7-8750H, RTX 2080 Max-Q) Laptop Review by Florian Glaser from 15/02/2019
With the Predator Triton 500, Acer presents an extremely compact gaming notebook that offers powerful components despite its small dimensions. In addition to an Intel hexa-core processor, Nvidia's brand-new GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q high-end GPU is also flexing its muscles... Read full review ...

Acer Predator Triton 500 by Matthew Buzzi from 15/03/2019
The all-new Predator Triton 500 is Acer's new benchmark among gaming laptops. A high-end model with a trim, light body, the Triton 500 (starts at $1,799.99; $2,499.99 as tested) packs Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics and a 15.6-inch screen. While the GPU's power takes a hit to fit in this chassis, the Triton remains a potent gamer with a strong supporting feature set at a reasonable price. You get greater-than-60fps 1080p performance in demanding games, plus a 144Hz G-Sync display, for $100 less than a comparable Razer Blade 15. (The latter we tested has a GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q and no G-Sync.) It can't quite topple the Blade 15 as our top pick; our Blade 15 had a nicer build, near-equal performance, quieter fans, and far longer battery life. That said, the Triton 500 is Acer at its best, and it's still worth considering if the savings and G-Sync appeal to you more than the Blade 15's charms.... Read full review ...

Acer Predator Triton 500 review by Gabe Carey from 08/03/2019
Considering the similarities in performance between a laptop and a desktop these days, a perfectly souped-up notebook is an easy sell—and the Acer Predator Triton 500 is the 15-inch, RTX 2080 machine to beat right now. With a sleek and understated Max-Q design, the Triton 500 is not only handsome, but it's powerful. Compared to its biggest competitors, the Razer Blade 15 and the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin, I wouldn't say it's affordable, but it is less unaffordable than the alternative.

The Acer Predator Triton 500 comes in three flavors, the costliest of which is a $2,999 monster, equipped with an RTX 2080, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. On the low end ($1,799), it has an Intel Core i7-8750H processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage. The CPU is the same across the board.... Acer Predator Triton 500 review by Matthew S. Smith from 21/03/2019
Gaming laptops have followed the Razer Blade on its march towards ever-thinner design. What once seemed rare has now become common. Purchasing a thick, bulky laptop now feels unusual. Even gamers must go out of their way to buy such a beast.

Few laptops highlight this shift better than Acer’s Predator Triton 500. Look at the spec sheet and you’d think this a straight successor to the Acer Predator Helios 500, which was an inch and a half thick. The Triton 500, however, is only seventh-tenths of an inch thick, and weighs 4.41 pounds. It’s only a hair larger, and less than a half-pound heavier, than the Dell XPS 15 or Apple MacBook Pro 15. Yet you also get Nvidia’s RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics, the best available for a gaming laptop.

That’s an incredible achievement, but it also begs the question – what was sacrificed? Is modern hardware truly this efficient, or did Acer slash battery capacity and throttle the GPU to cram everything in to the Triton 500’s small chassis? Let’s find out.... Read full review ...
