Acer Aspire One D255
The Acer Aspire One D255 (price not yet announced)  is Acer's first dual-core netbook, and one of the first 10-inchers anywhere to use Intel's new Atom N550 processor. The netbook's benchmark performance is moderately better than single-core competitors. Read more ...

This low-cost netbook stands out for its dual-core CPU, though the speed boost over a single-core chip isn't huge. Still, it's a good choice for those who need to squeak out a little more performance within a very tight budget. Read more ...

Review Acer Aspire One D255 Netbook (N550)
The Aspire One D255 offers good performance for 349 Euros (61% CPU benchmark, 18% total performance), as well as an at least as good battery life (WLAN surfing 6.35 hours) as single core N455 Netbooks. Working with Windows 7 Starter is smooth and more fun than with single core models. Read more ...

As with any laptop, it does have a tendency to get rather warm with extended use, so be careful to keep it well ventilated. Read more ...
PROSTiny and portable: fits right in my purse
CONSTiny screen and keyboard size, but it is a netbook. Also, for those of you who don't realize, this DOES NOT come with any optical (CD/DVD) drives.

Nice computer-away-from-home and office jump-point.
I run this as a dual-boot machine with ubuntu 10.10 and Windows 7 Ultimate. Works like a charm, but battery life is short. Had to install custom drivers to get networking working under linux. You can also tweak the graphics card to make it display 1024x768, which I think is nicer for this model. Read more ...
